Privacy Policy

Dotted is a local-first, account-free app. Your travel data (countries visited, trip dates, notes) is stored locally on your device. No data is sent to Inncoder AS. If iCloud is enabled, your data syncs through Apple's servers.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or contacts. No account is required to use Dotted.

Dotted does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

If you grant access, Dotted uses your photo library for two purposes:

• Smart Import: Reads GPS metadata from your photos to detect countries you have visited. This processing happens entirely on your device.
• Trip photos: Displays photos from your camera roll on trip pages. Photos are read directly from your library and never copied or stored by the app.

No photo data, GPS coordinates, or metadata is sent to any server. Photos are never uploaded or stored by Dotted.

You can share individual trips with others via a link. Shared trip data (country code, dates, notes) is encoded directly in the URL. No data is uploaded to any server. The recipient receives a self-contained link that opens in the app.

Dotted lets you export your travel data as a JSON file and import data from others. Exported files are generated and stored locally on your device. Inncoder AS has no access to exported data.

Dotted uses Apple CloudKit to sync your trip data across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Inncoder AS does not have access to your iCloud data.

Your data may also be included in iCloud Backup unless you have disabled it in your device settings.

Dotted does not collect crash logs or diagnostic data through third-party services. Apple may collect crash data if you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers through your device settings.

Dotted does not send any data to external servers. Your data is protected by your device's built-in security and, where applicable, Apple's iCloud encryption.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
