Terms and Conditions

Dotted is a travel tracking application that lets you log countries you have visited and visualize your travels on a dot map. You may use the app to create, edit, and manage your travel data for personal use.

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or any part of it
• Attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Translate the app into other languages or make derivative versions
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose

All trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the app remain the property of Inncoder AS.

Dotted stores your data locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your devices via Apple CloudKit and may be included in iCloud Backup. It is your responsibility to keep your device secure. We recommend not jailbreaking your device, as this may compromise security features and prevent the app from working correctly.

The app works offline for local data entry. An internet connection is required for iCloud sync functionality. Inncoder AS is not responsible for the app not functioning fully if you do not have access to a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

Dotted allows you to share trips via links and export your travel data as files. When you share or export:

• You retain ownership of your data
• Shared trip data is encoded in the URL, not uploaded to any server
• Exported files are stored locally on your device
• You are responsible for what you share and with whom

Country data, maps, territorial boundaries, and classifications used in the app are sourced from Natural Earth and are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not represent political opinions, endorsements, or official positions by Inncoder AS. Territorial representations may not reflect the views of all governments or users.

If you grant access, Dotted uses your photo library to detect visited countries via GPS metadata (Smart Import) and to display photos on trip pages. All processing happens on your device. Dotted does not upload or store your photos. Smart Import results depend on the availability and accuracy of GPS metadata in your photos.

Inncoder AS is committed to providing a useful and reliable app. However, we cannot guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inncoder AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the app.

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We may update the app from time to time. The app is currently available for iOS and macOS and may require a minimum operating system version. You agree to accept updates to the app when offered.

We may also update these Terms and Conditions. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the app.

We may also discontinue the app or any features at any time without notice.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, to the extent permitted by applicable local law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Norway.
